Godley Station Dental takes pride in the dentistry that we provide for you. Our goal is to provide excellent care to anyone seeking treatment. We want to care for your dental needs, but we also want to educate you on the importance of maintaining your oral health to prevent dental disease. This includes regular follow up visits, which could be anywhere from 2-6 months apart, depending on your personal needs. With that in mind, we offer the following dental guarantees:
Sealants are safe, durable, acrylic coatings placed on the chewing surface of the teeth to prevent decay in the pits and grooves of the teeth. (This is the most common area to get cavities.) Floss and the use of fluoride will help prevent decay between the teeth, as well as regular visits to the dentist. With these regular visits attended, we will repair or replace lost sealants for a period of 2 years after placement.
If a “tooth colored” restoration is the recommended treatment of choice, we will replace it or repair it within 1 year, in the event of failure. If the tooth breaks and needs a crown, we will credit the cost of the filling toward the crown.
With composite material (Herculite), sensitivity is not normally present. However, 10% of all fillings will need a root canal at some time in the future. Decay is soft, and this creates an insulation which may result in the need for a root canal, even if your tooth was comfortable the day before the filling. If your tooth has a root canal within 12 months of the time the filling was placed, we will credit the cost of the filling towards a core and crown.
We will guarantee these procedures for 3 years at no charge during the 3 year period, if they break due to misfit. However, if it chips or breaks more than once, it is not guaranteed, due to the probability that it is a result of unusual force in your mouth. This may be prevented with the regular use of a nightguard. Accidents that could break normal, healthy teeth are also not included in the guarantee.
If the porcelain chips on a bridge or a crown and function or esthetics are not affected, then the porcelain will be repaired with composite not more than twice. After two repairs, we conclude that unusual force in your mouth is at fault and the guarantee is null and void. This, again, may be prevented with the regular use of a nightguard.
